Accuro FM Ltd
Accuro manages the facilities, infrastructure and people for a range of different organisations including Police Headquarters, Health Centres, GP Surgeries and Community Hospitals. We currently support Accuro FM Ltd at Willesden Hospital, to deliver Customer Service, Team Leading, Hospitality Supervision, Leadership and Management Apprenticeships.
The enrolment for these courses has been encouraging and it is now anticipated that we will roll out programmes in further locations.
BCS City Lounge Ltd
BCS City Lounge is a company that provides travelling professionals with a business hub in Londonâs West End from which to conduct their business efficiently and productively.
Straight A Training is currently supporting two Apprentices in partnership with BCS City Lounge. The partnership developed when BCS City Lounge first promoted its services as a new business. The companyâs main aim was to develop and train all team members in the areas of Customer Service, Business and Administration.
More recently staff have developed into Team Leading and Management roles and have now progressed onto higher levels of qualifications.
Benit Ltd
Straight A Training started working with The Castleton Hotel in February 2008. The project originally commenced to support the opening of their restaurant through the delivery of an Apprenticeship in Management Level 3 to the Restaurant Manager. Other staff then gained interest in the courses and two employees engaged in a NVQ in Housekeeping at Level 2. Since then, Benit Ltd has extended its portfolio of hotels and therewith encouraged more staff to complete Apprenticeship and NVQ courses in Housekeeping, Customer Service and Hospitality Supervision.
Berkeley Hotel
The Berkeley Hotel is a 5 star luxury and contemporary chic hotel in Knightsbridge. Straight A Training started working with The Berkeley in June 2009, specialising in the provision of Apprenticeships in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership, Food and Beverage Service and Professional Cookery. Most recently, Straight A Training has begun providing the Diploma of Hospitality Supervision and Leadership programme within the hotelâs new Koffmanâs restaurant.
Brookwood Partnership
The Brookwood Partnership is an organisation which primarily provides catering within independent schools. Their philosophy is âto provide a food standard that canât be betteredâ. Brookwoodâs âEating for lifeâ programme has raised childrenâs dietary awareness, ensuring a high level of client and parental satisfaction.
We have been working with the Brookwood Partnership for the past four years.
At present, Straight A Training currently deliver Hospitality (Professional Cookery, Housekeeping and Hospitality Supervision and Leadership), Customer Service and Management Apprenticeships with The Brookwood Partnership and have in the past run an effective T2G programme. As our relationship has developed, the chance to extend the training across a variety of roles has become evident.
Learners who have achieved their qualification are awarded with their choice of text book; depicting their area of expertise.
Firmdale Hotels
Firmdale Hotels are a select group of luxury hotels in the heart of the West End of London. We currently have a Chef Apprenticeship programme running across the hotels in the group. All Chefs on programme actively take part in dedicated presentations, where they design and plan the menu, prepare and present lunch to serve to hotel managers and other guests as part of their assessment strategy.
Hilton Hotels
Straight A Training started working with the Terminal 4 Heathrow Hilton Hotel upon a recommendation from another client. Since working with the team at this busy Hilton Hotel we have delivered a number of Apprenticeship and Train to Gain programmes.
We currently support a wide range of Apprenticeship programmes; including Customer Service, Hospitality, Business and Administration, Management and Team Leading in both Terminal 4 Heathrow Hilton and Hilton Reading hotels.
Intercontinental Hotel Park Lane
The Intercontinental Hotel Park Lane is part of a well known brand, offering contemporary style in the heart of Mayfair.
Straight A Training began working with the Intercontinental Park Lane in February 2010, with a primary focus on supporting development within the housekeeping department. Following on from this, the programme has now developed across all areas of the hotel, with the following Apprenticeship programmes being partaken in; Customer Service, Business and Administration, Food and Beverage Service, Hospitality Supervision, Leadership, Team Leading, Front Office and Professional Cookery.
ITV
Straight A Training is currently supporting 20 learners on their Business and Administration Apprenticeship in partnership with ITV. The Apprenticeship posts support a variety of business areas within ITV. These give the Apprentices a dedicated programme of development in this fast industry. Numbers of applications for the posts were in excess of 130; therefore recruitment and selection was tough.
Apprentices follow an exciting and challenging programme that will culminate in either a Business and Administration at Level 2, or Level 3.
Kornicis Group Ltd
Kornicis owns and operates 18 bars and restaurants with a geographic focus on London. Among these are a number of Jamies Wine Bars, Smollenskyâs and Henry J Beans bar/restaurants.
Currently at Straight A Training we are supporting the following Apprenticeships: Hospitality Supervision and Leadership, Management, Team Leading, Professional Cookery Levels 2/3 and Customer Service.
Kornicis Group Ltd are passionate about developing their staff and recognise the successful achievement of the apprenticeship programmes through celebration ceremonies hosted by the senior management of the Kornicis Group.
Lambeth Council
Lambeth Council is one of Straight A Training’s non-hospitality clients who we are proud to be working with. The partnership originally focused to deliver Apprenticeships in Business Administration to employees who were recruited into an Apprentice position. As one of the first employers for SAT to recruit Apprentices, Lambeth had requested support with their recruitment and selection process. The client successfully recruited 2 Apprentices who commenced employment soon after and completed their Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration within the following year. To date, Lambeth Council has recruited even more Apprentices and also encouraged local business to recruit unemployed people into an Apprenticeship position. Straight A Training now delivers the programme across various workplaces in connection with the Lambeth partnership.
Langham Hotel
The Langham Hotel in London is a 5 star luxury hotel offering elegance and the best of modern essentials. The Langham has always been deeply passionate about the development of their staff; therefore to support them with accredited qualifications was a natural step.
The Langham Hotel in London decided that as a target, at least 10% of the workforce would be qualified at either Level 2 or Level 3 Apprenticeship within the first year of launching the programme. This was easily achieved, and staff were motivated to continue their development. Currently we have now enrolled the next cohort of learners who are working towards one of the following programmes: Management, Team Leading, Customer Service, Business and Administration and Professional Cookery. Successes are recognised as part of the âLanghamâs got talentâ awards ceremony.
Novotel Greenwich and Tower Hill
When originally approached by Novotel Tower Hill, Straight A Training was asked to deliver hospitality specific qualifications to employees. For more than 2 years we have now been working in partnership with the hotel and taken motivated and keen team members through their Professional Cookery, Food and Drink, Business Administration and Hospitality Supervision qualifications. The programme has run successfully and all employees have been praised for their achievement in the quarterly staff forum.
After recognising the success at Novotel Tower Hill, the Hotel Manager at Novotel Greenwich felt encouraged to also invite his staff to attend Apprenticeship programmes. Since then four members of the team have enrolled in courses such as Professional Cookery and Hospitality Supervision.
Patara Fine Thai Cuisine
Patara Fine Thai Cuisine is an up-scale dining concept serving a contemporary Thai cuisine, maintaining the authentic flavours of Thai culinary excellence.
There are currently four restaurants in this small chain based in Central London. This is a very exciting venture for us at Straight A Training as we are currently supporting Patara with delivery of Professional Cookery (Thai route) Apprenticeships at Level 2. All four restaurants are developing their staff in this area and also areas such as Customer Service and Management.
In 2010, Patara were one of our first clients to support the Customer Service World Class short courses, both at Level 2 and Level 3.
Radisson Edwardian Hotels
A collection of individual hotels in London and Manchester locations, Radisson Edwardian Hotels range from bijou boutique to large-scale luxury.
Straight A Training has been supporting Radisson Edwardian Hotels with accredited training and qualifications for the past five years.
Radisson Hotels actively encourage and support development of their staff. We work with Radisson Edwardian to embed their quality standards in all qualifications which are offered as part of an Apprenticeship. Currently the following programmes are supported in ten of the Radisson Edwardian Hotels situated in London and Heathrow: Management, Team Leading, all qualifications in the Hospitality suite, Customer Service and Business and Administration.
At Straight A Training we sponsor an annual award for the âMost improved learnerâ. This award is presented as part of the annual recognition awards held throughout the group.
Royal Air Force Club
With its traditional British cuisine, the Royal Air Force Club was looking for a training provider who could deliver qualifications that were suitable to their staff and culture. Whilst being a charity, the RAF is very keen to invest in their staff and develop them to at least a Level two qualification. Once the success in the kitchen area had been known and staff had seen the benefit of learning, departments such as Housekeeping, Front Office and Conference and Banqueting also showed their interest to complete certain programmes. Currently Straight A Training is delivering various qualifications such as Customer Service, Team Leading, Hospitality Supervision and Professional Cookery to employees and interest is ever growing.
The Cavendish Hotel
The Cavendish is a 4 star deluxe hotel located in the heart of Mayfair. Straight A Training began working with the Cavendish in September 2010 and currently provides a bespoke training programme designed to meet the specified requirements of the team within the Petrichor Restaurant.
Victory Service Club
The VSC has been a longstanding and valued client for Straight A Training. When at first the club was looking for development in their housekeeping department, Straight A Training was more than happy to up the level and not only assess but also train employees. As word spread, other staff was also keen to gain nationally recognised qualifications and that’s when Straight A Training started to deliver programmes across all departments. To date more than 30 staff have completed either an Apprenticeship or a NVQ in areas such as Customer Service, Housekeeping, Food and Drink, Hospitality Supervision, Leadership and Management. The VSC is constantly looking to develop their staff and Straight A Training actively supports their training culture.
