Team Leading Level 2


Aim

The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Team Leading Level 2 qualification is aimed at team leaders or supervisors.

This course aims to train and assess team leaders using a broad spectrum of subjects or units, which are key to the development of a junior manager. It covers the skills of providing leadership for your team, developing yourself, developing positive working relationships and leading health and safety requirements.

It allows team leaders to choose specialist optional units, which are aimed at further developing the management skills; such as resolving customer service problems, providing learning opportunities for colleagues and allocating and checking work in your team.

Units

Learners are required to complete six units to complete the full award.

Mandatory Units

  • Manage your own resources.
  • Develop productive working relationship with colleagues.
  • Provide leadership for your own team.
  • Ensure your actions reduce risk to health and safety.

Optional Units

  • Encourage innovation in your team.
  • Allocate and check work in your team.
  • Providing learning opportunities for colleagues.
  • Resolve customer problem.
  • Support customer service improvements.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal educational requirements for the ILM Team Leading level 2, but all Team Leaders undertaking the qualification should have the opportunity and experience of leading a small team of people.
